I have created this blog as a repository for all things environmental: our planet’s health, the strength of our communities, and the state of our personal interactions. These three subjects are deeply inter-related. The way we treat our environment, and those that enter it, is a direct reflection of our own health and the health of our community. If I walk down a city street, throw trash on the ground, and rudely push past those who pass me, what does that say about me? What does this say about my perception of the values in my community?

This January I begin a new career in the outdoor industry. I will be a shop-to-shop salesman pushing eco-friendly products that promote an active lifestyle. I will travel to outdoor outfitters, paddleshops, marine shops, marinas, state parks, and mom-and pop retailers in the Northeast and the Mid-Atlantic states. I will visit big cities like New York and Washington D.C., and rural towns, like Tidioute, PA and McHenry, MD. I expect to encounter a wonderful mix of American life.
