Ramapo State Forest
Yesterday, I visited a great local sporting goods store in Wanaque, NJ: Frank’s Tackle. The store has everything a fisherman and hunter would need. I love visiting local, independent businesses, but the gem of my trip was stumbling upon Ramapo State Forest, as I made my way back toward 287 on a small windy road called Skyline Drive. The dogs and I scrambled a mile to the top of a hill and took a few photos. On an opposing peak, there was a structure that looked like a lean-to, but it was in the shape of a castle bastion. I will definitely be back to explore some more and next time, I’ll bring the sleeping bag.
